Bold pearl stuck and does not scroll down ?

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is a common issue but my pearl trackball on my Bold gets stuck and only goes up and sideways , the down scroll doesn't roll ?

I have to keep playing with it and eventually will give but annoying.
Is there something I can do or is something about to break with the mechanism.
Since there is a 1 yr warranty I have two weeks left

    Any ideas?

Likely just dirt or debris on the ball. Have you tried cleaning the ball sparingly with alcohol? Also try a can of compressed air. Unlike past Blackberrys, removing the ball is a little more involved.

Yup, happens about once a month on mine. Its either debri or grease build up from your fingers.

A Q-tip and a lil rubbing alcohol does the trick and cleans it nicely.

I usually clean mine weekly now, so haven't had issues with sticking in over a month.

    Hope this helps

I use a glasses lense wipe on mine every week or so. I work outside in the dirt and this seems to keep mine from sticking. It also does a good job cleaning the screen.

Thank you all for the tips , will try !
I thought it was the mechanics going bad and would have had to return it.

    It happens once in while

Just do not use too much of the alcohol. Damp is good wet may be too much.

I have never had a trackball problem in any of my Blackberrys, I did have a wheel go bad on a Blackberry 7520 but then I am giving away my age but I am REALLY looking forward to the newest track pad on the Onyx!
