    Bold Or Javelin?

Hey all, I am looking to upgrade from a curve. I don't mind canceling to go to another carrier if need be. But, I am at a loss on which device I should get!

I love the Bold's form factor and that it has 3G and faster processor. But, the Javelin is great because it has a better resolution screen and camera. What's supposed to be so great about the Javelin trackball??

If it was up to you all out there in pinstack land, which device would you choose?

Obviously this is posted in the Bold forums, but I figured I would still get some mixed answers.

    Thanks.

I have the 8800, and when ATT has both I'll go with the Javelin. For me the breakers were 3G (Not high priority for me) and $$.

Do we know the difference in price yet? Bold is $299 w/ upgrade before rebates. Any word on the Javelin?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ thanks everyone for the insight!
Joewoo - valid point about cam and processor.

I am starting to lean towards the Bold now. Guess it's just a matter of waiting around for the device to come out (this week I hope.)

I have a Bold, its great. And yet I'm very eager to get a Javelin/Curve 8900. It has a fast processor too, a tick slower than the bold so you won't even notice. Its better looking than the Bold a better size & less money. Once these are released they will become the most popular. That's my prediction.

    Unofficially $199 w/2yr upgrade contract.
A great deal. A great model. Sure to be a best seller.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ interesting prediction archer6. I like the physical look of the bold more so than the javelin. When I look at the javelin, I don't like all that empty space in the keypad. I like how the bold has every aspect of space fully used and nothing is really being exposed.

People that have the bold, what does the backing feel like? Is it like a leather material??

i have used the Javalin about 2 months ago, its shape is like the curve but more....square? odd... its basicly Curve Version 2. both units have their ups and downs

Javalin has better battery life due to lesser speed and no 3G

Bold has a sharper screen, a keyboard that works better for my fingers

    Javalin has a better Camera

Bold is quite a bit faster, and with the newer media streamers comming out ( Flycast being one ) most companys are basing the latest apps around 3G because its so widly used, and 3G is a selling gimmic at the moment to lure the public with its promies of great speeds

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ xaroc, I thought the javeline's screen was supposed to be crisper over the bold's. Since you have used both, which one did you find to be a better fit for you?

Bold is a few hairs bigger, but i found its size to be more conferable to hold while typing.

and i would still have to say the Bolds Screen is still better, not to mention the Sound on the Bold is Amazing. I came to the bold from a Curve 8330, and the change from sound is Incredible.
