    Bold 9700 Bluetooth Issues

Recently added software version V5.0.0.405. Bluetooth does not stay connected to any device. BB continues to connect then disconnect. I have tried "re-pairing" but same results. Anyone?

What model headset. Did it come with any special instructions? Asking for a password etc at any point on bb?

I had my computer and a hands free care set which worked fine before the latest blackberry software upgrade (operating system).
BB sees both, connects then disconnects within a few seconds....interesting.

Starting to think it is the latest BB operating software.

Possible. They are downgrade instructions but I would explore all other options first.

What would you think other options to check. Have tried deleting device then pairing again, etc.

Can't seem to find any other forum threads related to this.

What brand/model is the headset? That info helps a lot

Try these steps in this order:

    1. Turn on your bluetooth headset set it to discovery mode.
    2. Enable the Bluetooth radio on BB (Click on Enable Bluetooth)
    3. Click on the Add Device button in the BB's Bluetooth setup.
    4. Find and select the name of your Bluetooth headset from the list.
    5. Click to activate Bluetooth device
    6. You may have to enter a passhey such as 0000 or 1234

Let us know if this helps

I agree. The make/model of the headset is what's really important here. It's most likely the headset itself and not the BB. I sell BB's and i haven't had ANY complaints about bluetooth connections. Especially with the new OS. Bluetooth's are just like the phones. You're going to have to spend a little more to get a good device. Some of my favorite brands are Blue Ant, Jaw Bone, and Sound ID. The Moto H17 is real user friendly too. try connecting your BB with another headset. Maybe a friend's or relative's. If you can't connect to their's either then it's possible that the phone needs to be replaced.

did u go to the bluetooth options and check if your device is still set as a trusted device and set for auto connection and access.
sometimes after the upgrade u need to set it all over again.

I had the same problem when updating to a leak 5.0.0.738 to my car's bluetooth. Downgraded to TMOs official 5.0.0.714 and it works like a charm. I too think from time to time it is the BB software and not the device. I tried the trust and access and this did not work.
