BlackBerry Bold -- Video playback
Before, my wife and I have both Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8330 with OS 220.127.116.11. I was able to send my wife a video from my 8330 via email attachment and she was able to open and view the video without any problem.
Now, I got new AT&T BlackBerry Bold with OS 18.104.22.168. After I recorded a short video and sent that video to my wife, she was not able to open it. The error message reads "An error has occurred attempting to play media." The file is a 3GP.
I am wondering if the video codec has changed in OS 4.6? In fact, I even upgraded the OS to 22.214.171.124 and it didn't do the trick either.
I also had WMV files can be played just fine on BlackBerry Curve 8330 with OS 126.96.36.199 -- but I can't open it on my BlackBerry Bold with both OS 188.8.131.52 and 184.108.40.206.
Here's additional information on the 3GP and MWV files:
Resolution: 480 x 320
MPEG-4 (Perian), 480 x 320, Millions Color
AMR Narrowband, Mono, 8.000 kHz
File size: 393K
This plays back fine on BlackBerry Bold OS 220.127.116.11 and OS 18.104.22.168 but not on BlackBerry Curve 8330 with OS 22.214.171.124.
Resolution: 320 x 240
Windows Media Audio 9 Standard Mono, 16.00 kHz
Windows Media Video 8, 320 x 240, Millions Color
File Size: 798K
This plays back fine on Curve 8330 OS 126.96.36.199, but not Bold OS 188.8.131.52 and OS 184.108.40.206
Hope this helps.
