    Blackberry Bold Possible screen failure

My brand new (3day old) Blackberry Bold screen has suddenly switched to a pattern much like a Scottish tartan with many black and colored lines. The unit has not been dropped, hit or otherwise damaged in any way. When I push the menu button the menu screen will appear momentarily but then the pattern of lines reappear. Any ideas?

I assume you have done the obvious things, like battery pull etc.

How about updating the firmware to make sure your current firmware is not corrupt

Or return for a new one as you said this is only 3 days old.
Sounds like a possible hardware issue.

I have had the same exact problem with the third defective Bold I got. Don't waste your time trying to fix it. You must return it for a new one - yours is defective.

    Finally got one that works.
