I did not have this issue on my Bold, but based on the long list of problems we are seeing with the Bold, it would not be a surprise if this was another. Since this type of battery can explode & injure you I would take this seriously & return it. Immediately.

Streaming music/video applications require constant use of radio to keep pace with data traffic. This creates extra battery drain. Increased battery drain creates heat.

So I should consider this normal and no further action should be taken
    Unless anyone has others opinions?

Yep same here did not see that issue on mine. Try returning/exchanging your device.

i streamed FlyCast on my Bold for a solid hour, and yes i did get a little warm, but not enough to become alarming. i would say this is a normal issue. because the internet data has a solid connection, and is constantly transfering data, its only natural it would produce a little extra heat.

Your computer CPU heats up during heavier use, surly the BB CPU works exacly the same. No worries bud ^_^

    There's a pattern here - bold!
Mine heats up when browsing big websites and even sometime when getting e-mails. Just doesn't seem right

I think it's normal. I get it while streaming with wifi and Flycast. It's not scorching hot, but it's definitely warmer. Nice to note, though, that my battery power doesn't seem to plummet despite this.

I still think its not and that you should get into the process of exchanging the unit or at least the battery.

I just streamed FlyCast for an hour and my battery cover got warmer too. I would consider it normal.

BTW: Merci bien jrmtl pour m'aider avec FlyCast. Tu habite ŕ Montréal?

Most of the batteries I have from my normal cell phones to laptops and other devices have some battery heat if they are "pushed".

I guess it's a matter of perception too whether people think the battery is warm to one user and hot to another. Of course there's a limit, but I find a lot of devices these days start generating some heat through the battery.
