My first Bold was from Rogers, although I live in the US. Numbers 2,3,4, 5 and 6 are all from AT&T. I bought each of the AT&T phones at different stores within a 500 mile radius of my home. I travel a lot throughout the state of CA and therefore had a wide choice of locations from which to obtain one. I did this so as to try and avoid getting phones out of the same "batch".

As far as factories where they were built, the Rogers was from Canada, then no. 2 & 3, from Mexico, no. 4 from Hungary, 5 from Hungary, and no. 6 from Canada. I have BB's 8100, 8110, 8120, 8300, 8310, 8320, 8700, and 8820 all of which are from a variety of plants. That said, there is no noticeable difference of any consequence, as each of these has been very good, fit and finish and functionally they are excellent.

Thus like any other mass produced product, they cannot all be perfect, or even excellent for that matter. The early defective (and they were quite bad) Bolds I got, were simply just that - defective units which is why they come with warranties. I do not, nor have I ever seen a pattern of units built in a certain factory being substandard to those built elsewhere.

I would actually say that each time one of his Bolds were replaced the odds were strongly IN his favor of getting a good device. I don't believe that luck plays any real role here, and the odds are never against anyone when they buy a new device or I'm pretty sure the product wouldn't be on the market in the first place.

I don't want to/mean to sound aggressive, just standing up for my boy archer and keep the thread free of any confusion.

    +1 for this.
There's no odds in this. You either get a new product or you dont. And if you dont you get a replacement.
Each replacement Archer got was better than the first one but not as good as it should be.
If anything the odds are in his favor.

Nor do I, never had any really positive things to say about their phones, always felt a little watered down.
