as a CDMA carrier, I've come to expect a year delay of new products. But since Bold was in dev for over 3 years, has anyone heard if this Canadian carrier might get the product sooner than that?

According to RIM, every BlackBerry is "3 years in the making". Your best bet is a year after GSM carriers.

Thats really sad, especially that they acknowledge it. Simply unacceptable in this day and age with mobiles.

Bell Mobility is stuck with their CDMA network and will never get the option of a Bold Device until they upgrade to dual standards on their network.

Hence, Rogers was first to market with a 'world phone' and Bell followed over 2 years later. They 'bet' on the wrong standard and lost.

While Rogers is pretty much a monopoly (at least in behaviour and pricing), Bell wrote that book.
