I'm gonna give it another go tomorrow. Thanks BHP.

If you delete Desktop Manager as BHP suggested, be aware that it will probably take the OS along with it, so you'll need to download the OS again.

If you haven't done that yet, go ahead and try deleting the vendor.xml file. I didn't have to, but that might be your issue.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader is where it's located. Should be down at the bottom of the list.

good point that i left out, you do have to download the OS again. for whatever reason that solved my issue. you might also try moving the OS to a different folder before you delete, if thats what you want to do.

I read in another post that if there have been no application changes (uninstall etc), you should do the operation twice for the restart to kick in.

US Cellular blackberry curve does it as soon as you press all 3 together. Didn't have to hold it more than a second and it reset immediately

for the bold 9700 - just hold the 3 keys simultaneously for about 5 seconds and it will reboot after another 5 seconds. You'll see your LED stay red before it reboots.
