I picked one up this morning and this has to be the best built berry to date. The 9700 exceeds all of expectations. The trackpad took 5secs to get used to and I don't think I could ever use a trackball again.

Ordered through ATT Business sales today... got it for $299 + $14.95 shipping. Should be here by the end of the week, prior to ATT's expected public launch :-)

Just ask for it. I got it with a little pushing. I hate rebates.

    Thanks amigo...

Heres the scoop on how I got it. I currently have two lines on a family share plan with a business association discount. When I called 611, I was told I would have to pay the full $7xx price for the phone (not eligible for upgrade until next June), and I wasnt interested. She did offer me a 45% discount on the full price though, but that only brought it to $385.

We figured out that I could cancel my add on line ($110 cancellation fee), and then activate a new line with the 9700 at $199 price for less than half of the cash price --> So, that would be 199 + 110 + 26 ~ 340... I asked very kindly if there was a way to avoid that hassle of cancelling and new lines, etc. and the phone rep explained that my account was in secured status and that with the right service rep manager available, I could be granted the early upgrade price of 299 sans rebate forms.

So, my tip, try to get your account into the secured status, and request an early upgrade. :-)

PS. ATT order status page is showing "In Progress"
