Why two? Getting another 9700 or one for work and one for home? I have never used a charging cradle for my devices, but I think I will try one for my next one.

The other will be for my VP. No need to charge at work. Even though I consider myslef a moderate user the battery is lasting longer than the original Bold. I do not think most will complain about the battery.

I have used the cradle for my Bold 1 at home and it is simply breat. Makes it easy to answer the phone without have to unplug anything. Worked very well and I would not do without. PLUS is takes some wear off the USB connection.

    im so jealous greg!!!

i used a cradle for my old palm, but never the blackberry. think i will get one for my husband's 8900. his 8900 is almost always dead the only time he ever charges it is in the car ... to and from work. lol. a cradle on his desk at work might get him to charge it more.

Thanks. Tell him he just has to drop it in and he is good to go. The cradle makes charging so easy.

Thats not the cradle for the 9700. The 9700 has the charging contacts on the sides not back. Just an FYI

    How so?

    EDIT

I just realized how this works. It uses the two contacts on the side of the battery button. I always wondered why they were there. Wow I'm amazed I think I want one now.

I have ordered from these people before and I am sure the item image is for example only. The correct cradle will be more simular to my Bold charging cradle except smaller. The one in this image looks to be for a Curve. As this item is new, they simply did not have time to use a current image.

Both the 9700 charging cradles arrived today. Note: the light on the back edge. Works perfectly!

The cradle uses the same USB cable that you would use to plug into your Blackberry but only uses the two contacts on the bottom edges of you device so it only charges.

i cant believe you dont use this next to your bed as bedside clock especially with 5.0 features....i never turn off my bold!

    cradle is a must !

bedside mode is one of the best improved features of 5.0
