can you show us some pictures taken with the phones camera
does it support youtube style sites?
    flash games/animations?
does the camera lag when trying to take a picture, like does it seem that the image on the screen is trying to catch up with you all the time?
if possible could you load a microsd with some music and tell us the sound quality
OH! when viewing the picture gallery, does it still lag alot?
pics attached - first one is a pic taken with the 9000, second is same pic taken with 8130 (black square is there cause i had to remove some proprietary info from the pics). pics 3 and 4 are word and powerpoint - sorry again for the blurriness but as you can see, the 8130's pics arent that hot

i dont think ther'es any flash support - going to metacafe.com, for instance, crashed the device and forced a reboot

camera operation is about same speed in terms of lag - a bit quicker but not by much from 8130

blacktouch - yes it supports animated gifs

cherrichiodo - i typed a bit on it and the keyboard seems ok - decent feedback. personally, the keys feel a bit "slippery" to me so that makes it a little annoying but still usable .. i guess it's gonna come down to learning curve and personal preference.

j llama - no gps coordinates (i'm indoors though..), dragon has been spawned and defeated successfully.

ziminvades - not sure of the legality of it, but i'm not divulging anything sensitive and u know..

DISCLAIMER: all this info is about a pre-production unit. any info I post may or may not be accurate so... or may be made-up for all you know. my opinions are only that - opinions. the device i'm using (or not using?) is a pre-production model so does not reflect the actual device as it will be released... and so forth

enjoy the info before i get a c&d

let us know about the keyboard once you play with it some more...the keys look like the ones on the 8800 which were very difficult to use if i remember correctly.
Yeah they keys on the 8800 series are hard to use so finally my fav so far is the curve

oh no .. when i go to pinstack.com on it, i see a blank page. If i switch to "page view", i get a java.lang.ArithmeticException

    nice!

in general, the browser isn't very stable yet - i just went to digg.com on it and that also caused a crash (i'm guessing cause of some flash ad or some such).

let me know what other sites to try - stuff that hasnt worked on past bb's

Folks, you heard it here!!! Thanks FiddlerMD, you confirmed my suspicions. I knew those kooky techs at RIM were planning something big, and I was correct.

If I recall the 8800 keys suck ... the curve's keyboard is awesome ... can't believe they would take a step backwards!

i believe the keys on this are better than the 8800 but i havent played with either of these to form a solid opinion - my only gripe right now is that they're "slippery" .. but i seem to be able to type on them ok

jdiiams - there is a video recorder (my 8130 has it too so it's not the first), it does have 3G support (at least that's an option in there.. so i'm guessing it has a 3G radio as well), it does have a microSD slot as well... none of this stuff is really new for a RIM device however.

no idea about carrier but it's GSM so i'm guessing t-mobile or at&t (probably at&t - they seem to get everything first.. this is just a guess)
i also just played briefly w/ a 8800 and the keyboard on the 9000 is significantly better - the keys arent as "wobbly", they have a raised ridge towards the inside of the letter and the "click" nicely. the 8800 felt rubbery and uncertain by comparison so either way, an improvement.
