the reason it wad reseting all the time was because you put your memory card which was encrypted most likely, from your old device into your new one.

which makes it reset because the phone thinks there is an error

usually a new sim card can fix those speeds problems, just call tmo and tell them you lost the old one and use the one that came with the phone and issue solved....worked for me..

If you upgrade your phone with TMO, it will not come with a sim card. If you say you lost it you need to pay for another one. It's
free if there is a problem with it.

That's strange. I have never had a sim card come in the box with any of my TMO upgrades that I ordered from C/S, and the one I bought at the store they took out of the box. I'm talking about an upgrade though, not a new line or an outright buy.

I didn't get a sim card on my upgrade as well. I'm getting speeds on 3G from 115k to 300k. Switch over to 2g and get the same result. I'm in philly and 3g is all over this mofo. I am going to stop in a tmo store and show the tech my speed results and see if they make mention of a new sim to fix the issue.

Here are the Speedtest results for my Blackberry:
    2G results
    Connection Type: Carrier
    Avg. Download Speed: 192.72Kbits/s
    Max. Download Speed: 262.38Kbits/s

    Avg. Upload Speed: 22.38Kbits/s
    Max. Upload Speed: 92.33Kbits/s

And this is 3G and of course this makes me eat my word from the last post. But it isn't consistent speeds at all.

    Connection Type: Carrier
    Avg. Download Speed: 751.73Kbits/s
    Max. Download Speed: 767.2Kbits/s

    Avg. Upload Speed: 58.69Kbits/s
    Max. Upload Speed: 126.9Kbits/s

Yep, to my surprise he brought the box out (after mumbling something about it being the last one...) and it was still sealed. He asked me if I needed help setting everything up and I said, "No, I'm good...I'll take care of it at home". Opened the sealed box and there lay a brand new SIM card. Totally unexpected... Usually with upgrades you don't get a SIM.

Oh, I see. The reps in the store usually open them up and take your sim card if you already have an account. That was smart of you not to let them open it.

I got a new sim card and my speed is still slow. I talked to tmo and all they did is tell me they may have issues in my area. Well I travelled to jersey and atleast 30 miles west of philly and had 3g coverage and the speed is the same, slow that is. I'm thinking its a problem with my 9700 but I really don't want a refurb since I just bought it. Anyone have any advice on what else I could do?

If your new phone is less than a month old and needs to be replaced, TMO gives you a *new* phone -- refurbs come with replacements after 30 days.
