3G - Receiving email while on a call

Does anyone know if we can receive email while on a call using 3G?

I know I can use Messenger and send email while I am on a call. But I don't think we can receive email.

    Can anyone verify?

Voice & data are seperate as long as you have a 3G connection. So yes your email will be received.

    sent via BlackBerry

Yes you definitely send and receive data while on a call because of 3G (main advantage of 3G for that matter). Whenever i'm on a conference call or on hold i fire up the browser and pinstack it up

I tried sending myself an email while I was on a call. The message did not arrive until I ended the call.

    I was definitely on a 3G signal.

I used the speaker phone and had the screen on my inbox.

    Nada

After I ended the call, I saw the message appear and it was time stamped

yeah the tower has to be upgraded to 3.5G in order for it work properly. Mine come through with no issues at all.

3G and 3.5G are 2 completely different things.

Remember Bolds were meant to be used on HSDPA Networks not UMTS. You may ONLY be getting UMTS Service at the time.

    Correct.
Thats probably why. And believe it or not but for some reason the GTA is not the best 3G place in Canada lol.
Best 3G cities hands down : Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa.

If there is a WIFI hotspot this will fix your problem also! You can do both on wifi network.
