    Must Have Torch Apps

So after much experimentation, my Torch is finally operating smoothly and seamlessly.

I recommend the following to make up for the things RIM got wrong or didn't give us:

    Theme: Phoenix
Wallpaper: Guinness (any wallpaper you like)
    Access: Quicklaunch
    Screenlock: Berryslider
    Battery Pull Option: Quickpull
    Message ID: Color ID
    Weather App: BerryWeather

Gives the ease of use of an iPhone while retaining and enhancing the real power of a BB.

    Have fun.

    That's it?

Seriously, nice list, but I've got way more apps and themes on mine. Could probably stand to get rid of a few, though.

So do I lol but these are the ones that smoothed out my frustrations with the not quite complete suite that the boys from Waterloo gave us.

AppWorld is right. Most of the others bought on Crackberry. Will try waze & xnobi today.

I hear ya! I have quite a few apps but recently deleted a lot of them since I found I wasn't using them much. But here's what I've kept and are also my must have apps.

    1. Google maps
    2. Berry weather
    3. QuickSlide
    4. SocialScope Lite
    5. Facebook
    6. SmrtGuard
    7. Poynt

I have all those except QuickSlide and Google Maps. I use AT&T Maps and Navigator.

    What's QuickSlide?

I've tried a couple apps for gps navigation but always seem to come back to Google Maps for some reason. It could be improved but it works well for me.

QuickSlide is great if you find your phone somehow getting unlocked because your lock key is too easy to trigger. Or if you're just getting tired of constantly having to press that key all the time. There's a better description of it over in app world. I really like it. I'll try to do a review about it in the app section over the weekend.

If Google Maps had a voice-navigation feature, I'd still have it.

    That would be great, thanks.

I just bought an app called TalkLock. Locks the screen while you're on a phone call so you don't accidentally mute the caller or put them on speaker phone. Does QuickSlide do something similar?

Yep you can totally customize it that way. Basically you can customize how it interacts with any app on your device as well. I definitely like the Torch a lot more after installing it compared to how it behaved when I initially got the device.

I can't do without Blackberry Wallet, although I have recently purchased an IronKey USB stick which I am going to transfer passwords to.
    Also use
    SmartWiFi,
    BB NewsFeeds,
    GoogleMaps
    BB Protect
    Tether
    BB Traffic

A couple of items I use a lot are Scientific Calculator and Conversion Cog, and Pageonce Pro

I'll have to have a look at QuickSlide as it sounds very useful.
