Accidentally pressing mute button during calls?

Just trying to figure out if anyone is having this problem. For some reason the touch sensor doesn't like to recognize that my ear is up to the phone and I ALWAYS either press number buttons or mute myself when I am on a phone call! This happens literally almost every time I am on the phone.

    Anyone have any suggestions/solutions?

Try going to the home screen while you're on a call. Press and hold the BB menu button for a second or two and you'll get a set of apps that you're currently running. Select the home screen (or any other one you might want to check out). This will put the phone menu in the background so you won't hit any of those keys.

Either that or use a headset.

i have found with mine that it all has to do with the angle and how close to your face the phone is....if your cheek is touching the screen the screen becomes incative and shuts off....then when you move it away it comes back on and that is when you can activate the speaker and or hit the mute button

And that is why, for the most part, I use a Bluetooth headset.

Haha I hit the speaker sometimes too! Unfortunately head sets are not really my thing :P so I will have to stick with the home screen option, which does work, or just deal with it haha. I have tried my face in multiple positions but for some reason I still mute it! Arghhh

I keep an extra glasses cleaning cloth in my pocket and clean my phone 4 - 5 time a day...so I guess that i'm OCD about keeping my phone clean
