.284 Update Causes Battery to Drain in Less Than 6 Hours

I have upgraded my OS to the new ATT .284 release and my battery life went from 2 days without charge to just over 6 hours. Is anyone else having that problem, or did I mess something up?

EDIT: I mean .246 update. I was looking at a thread about the .284 and accidentally typed that.

Wow, something's definitely not right there. You might want to wipe the device and start from scratch. Download BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife) at www.bbsak.org. This neat little app will allow you to back up and restore any third party apps you have and wipe the OS. You'll want to do a back up of your data and settings via Desktop Manager, although the OS reload will also do that.

Let us know how we can help.

if you are using the push e-mail feature on your phone, make sure that you log into the email settings (email setup) and confirm that they are updated and properly configured for your new phone. Mine had a similliar issue and the phone was waiting for my passwords to be updated for the push to continue. as it turns out, it will continue looking for your new emails and if it can't connect it will continue till your battery dies... if this doesn't fix it I don't know what will...
