    Question v.4.2 Vendor themes

So, I have installed v.4.2 on my 8700 and hacked the blackberry alx file so that I can get more of the delivered themes.... but what are the best ones that you have found?

I have enabled AT&T, Bell, O2, Orange, Sprint, Verizon and Vodofone.....

What do you use, and are there any other good ones???

Right now I am using the BB Dimension Icon as I think it looks the best out of all of them...but I want MORE !!!!!

I have upgraded a few 8700's here in my office. I put the vodafone today as the main theme. It is helpful for spliting up txt / email as well as calendar. Most functional theme imho and it does not say vodafone...so no branding. :-)

Krad, I spit up the email and SMS on the BB Dimension too... there is a setting under options when you go into the email folder.

so you have a seperate section on your home screen? I thought it just made another icon when you split them on other themes....

The vodafone displays today items in this order.
    -VoiceMail
    -Phone
    -Messages
    -Text/Media Messages
    -Calendar

Not bad on the main screen!

Actually I just tried out the BB Dimension Today theme, and the icons in the Applications view are smaller displaying 4 full rows of icons.

This might be my new fav... until I can edit it and make my own colors

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~and I have put the insight icon theme onto my u/g bb. It is nice to see an old desktop back safe and sound. Just copied the .cod files from 4.1 and then added a simple .alx text file copied from the unlock theme thread on the pinstack forum.

Scott, it will work, but you have to have the OS that is running on your handheld installed on your PC in order to do it.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: v.4.2 Vendor themes

I've unlocked the other vendor themes in this latest OS release and I was wanting to use the Vodafone Theme but it will not allow me to arrange any of the icons nor will it let me put on a wallpaper. Does anyone know how to get around this???

P.S. Also, it runs very slowwwww on this new OS.

    Re: v.4.2 Vendor themes

I've got the 8700 and when I try to download themes from the device itself, it tells me that there are none available. Is that alx hack that you were talking about what I need to do in order to get more themes? If so, can you point me to the documentation to do that?

    Thanks! Brian
