I dont know if anyone has brought this up, but in your directions you might want to say that you need to run the application loader to get to where it shows that it needs to be updated. I figured it out, but I thought you meant that once the phone was connected again it would automatically tell you. But besides that little clarification this is awesome and you guys are so helpful. Keep up the good work!

Hmmm, You're probably right that it needs mentioning, as a possibility. Thanks for pointing that out. I never thought about it due to the fact that during the tests I was making, I never needed to do that. When I open the Desktop manager after editing the .alx it always lets me know there is a change awaiting. Rcbjr. |

Hi there, I am trying to unlock these hidden themes and I am having problems. I am in the process of editing the blackberry.alx file and when I go to save it, I get an error message. It says, "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8100-v4.2.1.107_P2.3.0.83\Blackberry.alx file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct" Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?? Thanks! |

Well, I can tell you that that is a windows problem, but further than that I'm not sure. What editor did you use to edit the BB file? Rcbjr. |

Shouldn't make a difference. Have you made sure that you haven't changed anything in the pathname that would make it invalid? Rcbjr |

I have a laptop that still uses windows xp and it worked on that just fine... for whatever reason, vista doesn't like me messing with this file. Any-who, I got it figured out! Thanks!!!

I have run into a problem...When I go to my Research In Motion folder, all I have listed is the following choices: AppLoader, BBBIDevices, Modem Drivers, RIMDevice Manager and USB Drivers. What am I missing? Thanks for your help! |

| Re: Straight line instructions to activate Vendor Themes (Except 8130) you have not installed the handheld OS...go back to where you saved it and run/execute the file. that will install it on your PC via the installation wizard. once you have installed the handheld OS, you will see the folders that RC is referring to...

Cherrichiodo, Thanks! Next question I have is when I attempt to save the file (I edited in notepad), how should I save it as it wants to save it as a .txt file. I don't want to ruin my phone (only phone I have - no land line). |

Okay, so far so good, EXCEPT, like jljn88 I have Vista and it won't let me save the file. I only have my laptop, so the question is, is Vista a problem?

Okay, this is a really stupid question, but for some reason I cannot view any of the diagrams in the instructions... all I get is the evil red "x" box of doom...
