I am having trouble installing cod files on my pearl. I have the 4.2 software. I did not have problems instaling some themes that were axl format and were about 200kb big. But on my Blackberry desktop manager it does not give me the option to open COD formats only axl. On some themes I downloaded 2 files are on the zip folder, a large COD file and a 1kb axl. This doesn't work for me. Any advise plese!!!!!.

it sounds like the person who created the theme didn't zip it correctly? when using DM/apploader to add applications, you will not see the cod file, because it is *hidden*

I found my problem, I was not unzipping the files properly. Thanks for hinting me on what could of been the problem, since it was in fact the zip file.

v4.2.0.61 and i am unable to download themes
they just dont show up

sagarrules, Welcome to PinStack .

Check in Options/Advanced Options/Application. Open the Menu and select Modules. Do you see a module called "com_plazmic_themereader". It should have the same version no as you core app software. 4.2.0.61 If it's not there, or has a different number you will need to download your HandHeld software package and install it on your PC. Then connect your BB to the PC and open Desktop manager. If you are offered the option to update your HandHeld, accept that option.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

Ive read the comments above and i still caint get anything from them! I have a pearl and i need an 8100 theme reader whenever i download a theme ota it downloads and is on the phone but not under themes what do i do?

The Pearl and all version 4.2 device theme readers are included in the handheld application software. Some pearls originally came with software that didn't have it installed. You need to download the software package the is running on your pearl from you carrier's Blackberry download site and install it to your PC. Then connect you pearl to the PC, open desktop manager. It should recognize that you have a new module that needs to be installed and offer you the option to do so.

Pull the battery out and then put it back in and the phone will re-boot.

so i have an 8100 with the 4.2 and i download the them, unzip it, put it on my blackberry with the manager aplications and its not showing up on my phone under aplications or themes what do i do now?

I have a blackberry peral 8100 series and also have plazmic theme reader ver 4.2.0.64 i install themes .alx via desktop menager 4.3 but after reboot themes cannot appear in theme folder only the included themes or on screen i also menully reboot set by setup bettry back is i missing somthing

any time I try to load any of the themes that i have downloaded i get the same message.

"No additional applications designed for your device were found"


What is the I am doing wrong. Anyone have any thoughts.

You probably haven't downloaded the Device Software package for you 8130 and installed it on your PC. You can find it by following the link for your carrier in this thread, BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites.

Did anyone ever answer what to do if you lost your browser icon with a theme download? I have the theme on my phone, but a lot of stuff like the browser and medianet icons are gone and the help button doesn't work. Somebody help!!

Re-send your service books, that will bring back those icons.
