Question Looking for a tabbed theme to help organize apps

Can anyone point me to a theme or other utility that will give me some way to categorize my apps/icons into logical groups. The age old single scrollable row/column paradign just doesn't work for me now that there are so many useful utils, games, browsers, apps, etc.

I especially don't like the Zen based themes because there even less functional (although useful in showing specfic data) with a single column of apps that takes all day to scroll through.

I did find this utility which does something like I discribe (from software-for-blackberry called launcher) but after loading it my 8100/Pearl became unresponsive. It's also doesn't have a very refined look as many of the themes out there have. I've searched the forums and web for such a theme but haven't found one.

I'm willing to try anything out. Even if it was as simple as grouping a set of icons together and assigning a alpha/numeric key that would filter out everything but that group from the main window. Something like this could then be used within any theme (very cool). But I would love to have a theme that made use of the Zen type interface but instead of having individual apps on the left or right sides have those spots be categories that change the subset of icons that display in the rest of the screen.f

I might even try to install the JDK and create a theme or utility like I describe. Does someone have some thoughts on what the best approach would be and which dev tools would be best for this purpose?

    Thanks,

Welcome to pinstack. You could try to load 4.2 OS onto your BB, which will allow you to create folders and you can move icons into those folders.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

How do I make a folder? I've been needing that so badly! I don't like a cluttered homepage so I hide many of the icons for my apps. If I could make folders for games and other misc app that would simplify things

From your home screen you select Options>Add Folder. You can give it a custom name and there are several folder icons you can choose from. Once you have the folder, select Options>Move and move the icon over the folder you want to put it in, then click the jog wheel, track ball, etc.

It's a really nice feature. It'll be even better when you can you custom icons for your folders. Maybe one day..........

I just bought the new 8320 from T-Mobile and I have this same question. It looks like I have version 4.2.2.171 and I don't see this Add Folder option. I would really like to organize my icons as well.

Curve users - from homescreen all I do is hit menu>menu>scroll down to add folder, and it works fine.

If anyone finds a way to solve the no folder add option with tmo please share. I'd love to have something like this. I have tmo pearl as well. It will let me create folders on my memory card and Moe stuff around, but won't let me change folder icon. But from homescreen I have no add folder option. Please help someone smart!
    Meh!
