yes you install all computer setup files on your computer, then run your desktop manager , and click application loader, and walla, it will all be there clicked and ready to install, just click next and you will be installing the os upgrade, very easy.

    hope that was a help

Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

i have used a versizon blackberry and have used a att one

    - as far as the media player on the verizon one , it works like an IPOD. for
for exp: Atist, Genre, Song Title,
    - i mean you all know what im talking about , who hasnt used an IPOD, or a creative zen, or "nice mp3 player"

and on a att blackberry all you see is folders?
    for exp:
    media card (folder)
    prelaoded (fodler)
    internal (folder)

now i have mp3s and i dont feel like catogorizing them manually in differnt folders, why cant there be something like verizon did, and put that into use with another carrier...

i thought that was what i was doing when i unlocked all the vendor themes (works great by the way) , but it wasnt..

sadly disapointed, but i know som1 out there knows how to crack this one

or maybe ther's a sick media player out there for the blackberry to list your songs like an IPOD...?

    anyone?

Have you downloaded the handheld software package that contains app ver 4.2.2.89? If not, that explains why you can't find the files.

Im a little confused, you quoted my post that said thats the app version im using, but it has that (186) after that, am i checking in the wrong place or something?

I didnt download that software, i just got the phone, and thats what was on it.

Looking at other forums... i see http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support...load_sites.jsp

Should i be downloading something on my PC?

Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

I was being lazy in my response and didn't include the (186). You said you couldn't find the files. I tried to explain. They won't be on your PC until you download and install to the PC the handheld software package for yor BB. If you want to "unlock all hidden themes", you need the files that contain them and the loading control files (.alx files) from your carrier's link from the page you linked.

Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

hey all, thanks for the great tips! I have unlocked vendor codes several times in the past with no problem. I now downloaded the new TMO OS (.107) and I am attempting to unlock the vendor codes again. However, on my PC, when I am trying to save my changes, i get an error that says, "cannot create the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8100-v4.2.1.107_P2.3.0.83\Blackberry.alx File. Make sure the path and the file name are correct."

Anyone have any ideas? I am merely clicking "save" through Notepad.

    Help!

    Alison

Update...when I tried to save the file as "Blackberry2.alx" just so I'd have it saved I was told I didn't have "permission" to save in the folder. I am using Vista but I am signed on as an admin. Hopefully this will help identify the problem...

Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

I am having the same trouble as Alison above. I am using Vista and made the changes to the blackberry.alx file, but I am not able to save the changes. Vista keeps telling me that the file path is incorect and will not allow a save. I also tried to change the file name, but again I dont have permission.

What should I do? When I did this with my curve using Windows XP, I had no problems saving the changes.

Please help in how I can go about saving the changes and reloading the OS to unlock the themes...

Thanks to you all in advance!!!
