    I have been told it can't be done, but I would assume if there is a way to format the themes, there would be a way to remove the preinstalled ringers?
    neato thread for sure....not sure if i am willing to mess around yet.

    But, there has got to be a way to access those preloaded media files which not many folks use in order to delete em. the 8100 seems to have a nice block in place. can't wait to see what all you saavy BB users can figure out.
    thanks

    That usually means that you haven't installed the OS on your PC or that it didn't complete correctly. Did you execute the OS download File. You have to have installed the OS on your PC to get the Shared Folder.

    Hope this helps

    I just need someone who has unlocked the hidden themes on their Pearl to slowly walk me thru this LOL

    I am trying it right now and have the Notepad file open but not sure what to edit and where to put the "100" for T-Mobile in. If it helps, I installed OS 4.2.0.71 (Platform 2.2.0.41) from Cingular (vendor.xml deleted).

    Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

    In the Code, scroll down to where you see this:

    You can see Cingular/ T-Mobile.. etc.

    <!-- Cingular US filesets -->

    <fileset Colour="True" KeyboardType="Qwerty" Java="1.0" series="8700" _vendorID="102">
    <files>
    net_rim_theme_102_320x240.cod
    </files>
    </fileset>

    <!-- T-Mobile filesets -->

    <fileset Colour="True" KeyboardType="Reduced" Java="1.0" _vendorID="100">
    <files>
    net_rim_theme_100_240x260.cod
    </files>
    </fileset>

    See where it says: vendorID="102" change the 102 or, whatever number it is, to whatever your vendor code is for each instance that you see that.

    Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

    I got it finally. Thanks for the help. The only themes unlocked on my device were the Cingular and Orange France 8100 series themes. I saw Vodafone and O2 themes but no way to change the vendor codes for these.

    Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

    The install on my computer is different... meaning, the path that is supplied above doesn't exist on my PC... Mine looks like:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\

    From there only four directories exist: "AppLoader", "Modem Drivers", "RIMDeviceManager", and "USB Drivers".

    Does anyone know why my install would be so different than what the rest of you have?

    You need to download the device software from blackberry. It sounds like you only have the desktop software installed

    Does anyone have a link to the TMobile OS, NOT from the TMO site? For 5 days now it has not let me download anything "due to overwhelming demand."

    Re: How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

    Just wanted to update you on my progress...I can now access TMO downloads. I have two options. 1) New version of Blackberry Desktop (although I already found and downloaded a newer version on the blackberry website, just added today.) 2) New(er) version of the handheld software (v. 4.2.0.64, I only have 4.2.0.42). Now I really apologize for sounding stupid, since I would like to make a way better first impression, but neither of those sounds like the OS that I need to have installed to change the vendor codes. And, even with a new version of Desktop and Device Manager, I don't have "shared" file. So is there somewhere else I can go to get the OS I need?

    Thanks guys...so far today Pinstack users have solved 2 BB issues that even TMO can't figure out...
