How to Unlock all Hidden and vendor themes.

thanks guy for responding, I ended up using the easier method by deleted my old alx. file and downloading the modded file from a different post and it works to sweet. Thanks Pinstack. No wonder this site is number one for Blackberry. They should've named this sit GotBlackberry.com

Hi All!

I've been fully unable to enable the Zen them. I have an new 8700c on Cingular, but I cannot find the .alx file, let alone edit it. The closest file with similar items is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Device.xml

It's not nearly as exhaustive a file as indicated to get the theme, but I've not found any .alx files at all. (For the record, I am showing all hidden files and system files on my HD)

Have they updated the structure for where themes are 'enabled' with the most current versions? (I have 4.1.0.194)

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Do you have a copy of your handheld OS on your PC? Its not included in the Desktop Manager software, you have download it separately from your carrier's website. Once you have done so the blackberry.alx file is exactly where this thread describes it. Once you go in and alter the file accordingly you have to install the updated OS on your device via Desktop Manager, then the themes will appear. I have done this successfully, so if you need any help feel free to PIN me. Good luck.

jlesh is correct you need to download the latest software for the 8700 and execute the exe file to get the alx file.

That did the trick.. I have BlackBerry.alx on my HD now, but I don't see the Zen theme there....

Try downloading and installing one the Bharti, TMO, Orange (UK) OS files. The Cingular OS came out way before the ZEN theme was created and has never been updated. You can find the links for the OS from these carriers in this thread, Blackberry OS Software links (by carrier)

I don't see Orange UK on that page... I'm pulling down the T-Mo version now.. I need both the Desktop and Handheld, it seems...

Well... I'm at an impasse... I've the Zen .cod on my BB, and I've tried various different .alx files to get it done. None of them listed the Zen definition with the _VendorID option, so I added that manually. Still nothing ... I'm seeing other themes (Orange, Bell, Sprint), but still no Zen.
