How to on Installing Blackberry themes (scan this thread)

I had to uninstall all my themes (except the ones I got with the phone and the ones I got when I upgraded the OS) to be able to get that message to go away. I got the following to reload: Gunmetal, GM Variant, and Vista 7100. I would like to at least have a Walnut theme if I can't get the others back. How many themes can a BB hold?

An update. I was able to get all of the downloaded themes and more to work on my BB.

guys, i just got my BB 7290 today. im already on the rampage of trying to install themes. i've installed plaznic and installed one theme. but i can't seem to load the theme. you just go to Options>themes, right? or am i just plain dumb??

this is my first time using a BB btw. also, the theme has already been installed on my BB via DMapp loader.

You're doing it right. Just make sure the theme is in Themes, not Applications, or it won't load. I had this happen several times. If it's in Applications, delete it and reload it to make sure it ends up under Themes.

Ok, so I read the "How To" and it didn't say anything about what to do with a theme you download. Could someone on the thread share this?

So I have managed to download some of the themes, but how do I install them on my blackberry? I assume I have to put them into a special directory or something, but I can't find any info on this. Can anyone help?

i just got the bb 7100g and i am tryin to put themes on through my dm but i have 4.0 can someone please help me out

With 4.0 you are more than limited as to what themes you can instal. Try looking here, this includes the only themes I know of that will work with 4.0.

Or you can upgrade to 4.1 with instructions listed here. Once you have done that, all the other themes on this site made for your model of phone should work.

Either way, you want to go to your application loader, click on add, and then select the .alx file for what themes you are trying to load. For the themes that require 4.1, they also require the Plazmic Theme Reader be installed as well. It should come in the ZIP file with the themes themselves and you only need to instal it once.

ok so ihave been tryin to download themes via my dm and the themes goin into my applications instead of themes.....i have removed them and tried to reinstall the themes and they keep goin under apps i have trie atleast 5 times anyone know what could b wrong

Yes, it sounds like you are using themes made for 4.1 and you have 4.0. They will always show in applications, but should of course show up in themes as well...

Below are the themes I was pointing to in my previous post that I know to work on 4.0. All other themes are made for 4.1 and require the Plazmic Theme Reader be installed as well.
