Have you tried windows search? Type in vendor.xml and find the location that way.

    Here is the location... c:\program files\common files\research in motion\app loader\vendor.xml

Peterbabiy, Although yours may be slightly different based on what carrier and OS you have, the folder should look something like this

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8100-v4.2.0.xx_P2.2.0.xx

That's where the Blackberry.alx file is located.

    Hope this helps

If you can't find the shared folder, then I'm thinking your OS install failed. You did execute the downloaded file, right?

When you downloaded the OS file, did you save it to the desktop? If so Try moving it to a folder other than your desktop then navigate to that folder using windows explorer, and double click on the downloaded file. Once it completes the install, look for the Shared folder.

    hope this helps

Ha just realized you were wanting the blackberry.alx not the vendor.xml. What a nerd...

    Thanks for helping out Rcb...

Question Re: I can't fine my Blackberry.alx file anywhere on my PC, Can anyone help?

Having the same issue. Saved installation file to folder other than desktop. Successfully installed v4.2 but still no Shared folder in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion folder. Any help would be appreciated.

I have this problem. I don't have the Blackberry OS on my desktop, but my phone is running 4.2 and I have the desktop manager installed. I read the tutorial...but it doesn't really cover this.
