    werid situation with signature tool

    Hi all,
Has anyone else had this with signaturetool.
I know I am using restrict api's, when I load the cod on the bb it tells me app uses restricted api's. So far all good.
If I now try to sign the cod with signaturetool it tells me no signing required??!?!

    Anyone else encountered this before?

    Cheers

Yeah this one is really annoying me. Ive developed a fair number of apps for the BB, but i have never come across this before...so i am currently stumped.

Can anyone suggest an alternative means to get an answer? ie the blackberry.com forums? I have never got much value out of them personally but what do others think?

I wonder if you have import statements in your java files that are not used which could be picked up the handheld link verifier and maybe not by the sigtool

A common mistake for me was to include net.rim.vm.Persistence instead of net.rim.device.api.util.Persistence - the net.rim.vm package is private though for some strange reason is available to the "intelli-sense" in the code editor of the JDE.

    Good luck with it!

    hey,

for those that are interested I fixed my problem in the end... and it was user error.

I have separated the csl and cod files so the signaturetool didnt know what it was signing..... doh!!!!!! teach me to write fancy ant files.
