Ok. I was just trying to follow the instructions exactly as it says to "#1 Make sure you're running the latest DM software."

I've been trying over and over to get this to work on my laptop to no avail. I thought I'd give it one last shot.

I have the 4.1 DMS installed and working great. I just can't get the Plazmic Theme SW to run without major errors after I install everything. Some of the things he says to download have the 4.2 digits in them, (BB JDE 4.2.0, Plazmic CDK 4_2), do you think that could be why it's not working for me?

yes. you should not be downloading the 4.2 versions of plazmic unless you plan on building for the pearl, and that would mean a dm version 4.2

go back to plazmic and download the 4.1 version. that should prompt you to download the proper java apps too.

Is it okay to use BB JDE 4.2 instead of 4.1? The Plazmic site says use 4.1 OR HIGHER. Just wondering if it actually matters.

Hello everyone,

Ok, I just downloaded everything step by step, and it was a success. Now I just made my 1st theme and it saved as .thm how do I convert it to a zip file or whatever it has to be in order for me to put it on my phone.

Hi jesse0422,

With the theme open in the theme builder choose, file>export>alx. Choose a folder where the theme will be saved.

Now using the desktop manager point to that folder you just saved the exported .alx file to.

Follow these instructions below for the install:

Install using your desktop manager.

3. Connect your Blackberry to your computer.
4. Open up Desktop Manager –> Application Loader –> Add.
5. Find the file called “ThemeName.alx” and click “OK”.
6. Find the file called "Plazmic_Theme_reader.alx" and click "ok".

Note: 8100/Pearl users omit step 6 above. The theme reader is NOT needed.
After the installation finishes, you can now change your themes by going to Options (wrench icon) –> Theme.

Nevermind...got it working..thank you...spent the next 6 hours making the wrong theme...made it for icon not zen... Are there other setups for themes...like zen and today and icon and phantom....

everything seems to basically be the same things...I was looking for something a little more...I like plazmic but it seems lacking...like the application background...why can't it have an alpha value...I know the phone can do it...
Just little things like that..

Mainly I want to have the info I want on the screen only...When I want it...ya know...like customizing your desktop...or a webpage...I know it can be done...lookm at the diff between phantom and zen...completely different...

hrmmm...always trying to push it beyond acceptable limits...

if anyonw needs the jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586-p download go to mobile41.com then select on themes>scroll down to theme tools donot download the CDK or the JDE file they are corrupted and unsupported i gotthe same error message for both version 4.1 and 4.2 Holla
