Hello all.

I am very interested in starting to develop a simple tool for my blackberry. I went to the library, got a couple of books on Java and I'm teaching myself how to code.

Those of you that code... do you use the Blackberry JDE or a different JDE such as Eclipse. I'm looking for the most user friendly environment.

Also, should I get a book on J2ME or just stick with Java books until I get up and running.

The program I want to develop is very basic. I want to create a graphic of dipswitch with 10 switches. When I input a number, the graphic would update the position of the switch to on or off based on a binary calculation (ex. switch 1=1, switch 2=2, switch 3=4, switch 5=8... up to 256. For those of you who are unfamiliar with those numbers my application is used to determine a DMX address for an intelligent moving light fixtures that utilizes dipswitches to set it's address). I'm figuring that I'll use Plazmic for the GUI, but that is further down the road.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
