Navigation hasnt been an issue with me. the theme builder lets you edit the navigation after adding the svg file. its getting the dock and icons to work as they should that seems to be the issue. a lot of people feel that this concept is impossible but no one seems to remember the tody plus theme uses this.

Yes, that is true, depending on what you are building your theme for. A Curve on 4.5 has different navigation options than a Bold on 4.6. I should have clarified, the navigation issue I was talking about was related to the Curve, I haven't tried it on a Bold yet.

What are you building your theme on?

Once you import the svg how does the navigation worek? I believe you said you had it working with one icon. So if you use that svg I your theme does it navigate to it as you want it to?

The problem I am running across is I want the 5 icons on the right to slide out when I move the trackball right. Instead it goes to profiles. I have to scroll up all the way to get to the side.

well after adding the svg to theme builder, the navigation for a 4.6 automatially sets it to a vertical navigtion. but that might be because thats how i laid it out on composer. i use the feature i posted above to set how i want it to navigate. a 4.5 i haven tried yet. i got my sliding ions to work perfectly. im not sure about the hiding panel and its navigation for a 4.5. im still trying to make it for a 4.6.

Can't you make it as a customised theme, that way you could have the icons wherever you want and still have the 'long' bits too

    Or have I missed something

Thats the flick n slide tutorial but it doesnt show how to make a dock panel dissapear when not in use..Think of the today plus theme on the old 4.2 8100. The bottom dock with the zen icons slid down when anything other than those icons were focused

I've been messing around with pop out docks and here's the only idea I've come up with thus far..

Making an extra theme button that will be hidden so it appears as if you're not selecting anything. But there isn't an option to not have it target nothing so if the trackball was pressed it would activate whatever you have it selected as.

I haven't messed with having a dock and icons though so it may hide when scrolling through the icons. But the theme I'm currently working on is all built in composer so I pretty much need to find a way to have an inactive state.

Without giving away too much there will be a pop up menu and a slide out dock. If I get anywhere with this idea I will share what I find. But I'm hoping someone has cracked this by now that isn't too greedy to share it..

It makes sense but it doesn't explain how to hide an object when not in use. Unless of course I'm missing something.

If your missing something, so am i. i tried for 2 nights. Nada. now ive learned how to hide an icon when not in use. but not the whole row of icons with a single panel background. it shows you why but not how.
