Question Button packs, Backgrounds, OH MY! question mostly

Ok, so I have been playing around with plazmic. I've been trying to make some themes but I hate the standard button sets that come with the themes and I want to make some of my own. Since I'm a pinstack n00b I can't PM cherri who seems the most knowledgeable about these things.

I can make my own backgrounds, but how do you go about making buttons to match your themes and what programs do you use.

    Cherri,

I saw your tutorial on GIMP for making the zen buttons with invis backgrounds but what program do you use to make the buttons themselves?

Any plugins that are helpful, or macros that you might use to aid in creation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    pattachan...i did get your PM

the only thing i don't think i answered was where to get the actual icons...

i created the background for some myself in photoshop, or did a search on the net for buttons/icons and just found a blank one i could use.

if you want to PAY for icons, like some theme builders do, then you can use a place like istockphoto.com ...

The only way I've ever been able to get images not to distort is by using a convert of some sort to change the size. Even then some items still distort. I think the last time I converted an image I just used microsoft image thingy built into windows.

you need to resize them jake --

    240x260 for pearl
    320x240 for 8300, 8800

if you try to put something the size for the pearl on the curve, it will stretch it...
i would suggest browsing the wallpaper threads
they are already sized for your device (which i have no idea what you have)

Any wallpaper for the curve will work for the 8800 series. Pearls are a horse of a different color. As cherri stated re-sizing will work for you. but you have to re-size before you put it on the phone.
