API for pushing items to the inbox
I notice that a variety of major 3rd party apps -- notably Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger -- push new items into the global (email, etc.) inbox which then link back to the conversations in the individual apps, themselves. This appears similar to how Blackberry Messenger works.
Is there any API available to do this, or do these few players get priviledged access to things we mere mortals can't do?
Thanks very much for the pointers.
Re: API for pushing items to the inbox
I'm sure there are predefined functions to do this for you. You can check on blackberry's dev site. I'm sure you'll find your answer there. I stopped caring after I remembered how much I hate Java. Would it have been that hard to code in anything else? What was the excuse? Speed? Poo.
For prefab code, check blackberry first. They have the whole library with annotations too.
