VZW has a CDMA network, which does not require SIM cards.

The SIM cards in VZW worldphones are for use in international roaming. One can remove the SIM card from a VZW device and use it on VZW's network just fine.

Two pats on the back! But the SIM would not be necessary to operate the phone - - only to roam with it, so I still vote fake. Anyone else?

Sorry, I meant it's fake, since the SIM is not necessary to use on VZW's network. Even if one was overseas with no SIM, it would still operate, just show it had no signal.
