I dont know if video calling will be all that popular, and if it is, I'll be surprised. I dont know many people that use their smartphone for calls, mostly it's text, email, or messenger clients. I just dont see many people sitting at home, holding their phone in front of their face and having a conversation last more than 20 minutes. Most people like to throw on a bluetooth, set their phone down, and multitask when they are on the phone.
It's a cool feature, but innovating? Maybe to those that have loved ones living far away or people on business trips that want to call home and say hi to their kids, but other than that I dont see it changing the way we communicate. Twitter and Facebook is proof of that.
