I talked with a tmo service rep and he told me that the monza( i guess it will also be called torch, although no slide out keyboard ) release date was pushed back to at least September from what he was told in a recent meeting. Then again it was also told to us in the past that it was supposed to be release by the end of jun, then july.

Hope all the delay means they are getting most of the bugs worked out before it hits the market.

With all these good news I'm tempted.
But unlike a couple of years ago, I'll have a BB as an optional phone. My Android is untouchable.
How times and choices have changed...
    Thanks RIM. For nothing.

You've been exposed to the light my friend. RIM should chage its name to HUBCAP because it keeps coming off the wheel every single time and flying on the side of the road.

Unfortunately true. I don't want to be caught by it. Or get a BB with OS problems, patches, updates, battery pulls etc. and be stuck with a (already) outdated phone, for as long as RIM wishes...
Wouldn't this be a good opportunity for QNX?
    Again, thanks RIM. For nothing.

If BB is so wrong why are they the only ones that can do email right. And BBM can't be beat

^^^ well, theres nothing wrong with my mail exchange setup with Google, and BBM I don't miss. If these are the only virtues of BB, I can do well without them.
RIM has to come up with more. Supply the clients what they need, today, now.

Not really 7 new devices is it. I always thought the 8300 and 8310 were considered one device, different radios etc,

I've been out of bb now, so its no longer like this?

The 9860 looks nice and smooth, but the Browser could use a little work.

I really do not see any major advantage to upgrading to any of the OS 7 devices, since they will not be capable of running QNX.

I am going to wait until next year. By then the QNX devices should be out. I'll also check out the new Android devices and Windows Phones.

I do not want to get tied into a 2-year contract on anything now, since I should be getting LTE in my area, so even a new Android or Windows Phone 7 will be obsolete by next year, since there are none for AT&T that support LTE.

Changing carriers is not an option, since I have a FAN discount.
