    Geez thanks Mark.
How old do you think I am?
Actually the phone has been available for quite some time. I bought the exact same phone for my in-laws in Italy, in July 2010. He's 97 and the lady is 88, a bit senile both of them, hard of hearing and with difficulty to see. I thought this phone would solve some problems. But...
The phone has the panic button which I programmed with the local emergency no. The dial and the Off buttons can also be programmed with quick dial nos.
And it's LOUD ! And it vibrates worse than a rattle snake.
It worked fine until it ran out of battery after we left. I forgot to explain how it recharged... and to save money (always), they unplugged the charger. My wife then found out that they had paid in to TIM It 60 Euros (prepaid SIM) to make it work (they landed up with over 80Euros as a balance) they finally gave up `cause the phone didn´t work. Useless and rubbish. They actually said to my wife - "It´s a present from Delfim. It only works if he´s here..."
This is a real life joke.
    Old people
My wife went back there at Christmas time and set it up again and explained everything.
But it's off again... and they don't use it at all. No need.
The old man says he won't be able to ring anyone if and when he dies...

    Quoting the article above:
specifically tailored for elderly people with huge buttons
Actually, I've never seen an elderly person with any kind of button at all . . . .
