I am curious to know how someone get's over 5 gb with the iPhone. I understand that Android and iPhone devices run data in the background constantly to a degree. My daughter has a Galaxy S and lives on that thing. It's her only source of internet, facebook, texting, phone etc. She's on my T-Mobile plan and the biggest data month she's had is 3.1 gb. does texting not count cause she's over 3000 a month. I'm thinking people better get a life, unless using it for business is where all the gb's are coming from.

SMS is not data. MMS is data.

I once used 5.7 GB data in a month on a BlackBerry. That happened by streaming TuneInRadio, Pandora, Nobex for 6 hrs/day and also subscribing to 5 podcasts which had new episodes weekly.

    I've never tethered.

Using the phone as a hotspot to run other devices will also give you high data use.

I won't say what I use on Sprints unlimited.
I will say that AT&T would make me miserabe. You have to realize this is my only connection to the web. Last night I downloaded a 250mb ROM. Heck ics leaked have been about 2-3 a week, so its not hard to see what I use.

Unlimited throttling shouldnt kick in until well after the limited plans.

I used to have AT&T as my ISP. When AT&T instituted caps on its DSL/U-Verse, I canceled my service and switched to Time-Warner. The broadband caps are more of an issue to me than the wireless caps. I made sure that the CSR knew QoS was not the reason for my cancellation; it was strictly due to the caps. AT&T did not even try to keep me or entice me back to its Internet service. I had been a subscriber for 7 years, but I walked away in March 2011.
