    And why hasn't anyone else thought of doing this or actually do this yet? I can imagine the cost savings from the electricty they will no longer have to pay for (and possibly be paid for) will make up for the extra cost of the solar panels. Smart move. This also could provide a viable alternative for tower placement since it will no longer have to be on a power line or have access to the grid.

    Others have. It is, apparently, quite common practice to do this in foreign countries.

    And again the US is 2 years behind (maybe more) when it comes to cellular technology. lol
