Tizen is a spin off, it seems, of the proposed new TouchWiz live tiles that will debut with the S5. So what's new?

its sad that the HP OS died. I was hopping they put more effort into it to make it great. Would have loved to see what it be today. Samsung need to put in the work that apple and google did for their OS or Tizen will be in the same boat as HP's OS

I'm all for a new mobile OS. When it gets polished and spit shined get back with me. Till then I'll be using Android and IOS.

Samsung missed their chance when they didn't buy WebOS from Palm. As of now, there is a spot for a third OS. One that is small mind you, it's Android and iOS.

For Tizen to be able to convince the zillions of Android and iOS users, it will have to be a superior OS in all aspects. Right from the word go.
Even Windows Phone, which in my opinion is a great OS already, isn't capable of convincing the majority. If Windows can't, then Tizen won't.
Or as I suspect, it just may become a competitor to the likes of Nokia (the Sasha series) or any lesser manufacturer OS.
To be up there with the best, you have to be better. TouchWiz´s expected Live Tiles will also damper any experimentation with Tizen, basically it's like Samsung is also undermining any chance Tizen may have in conquering "converts".
I don't see Tizen going anywhere.

Time is running out for Samsung. They either have to make a move soon or they will be stuck with Android. The only other option I see is that Rizen is actually going to look and feel a lot like where Touchwiz is going. If that's the case, the only issue they face is getting the developers. Which shouldn't be too hard as Samsung is really the only(major)market for developers on Android.

I said the G2 wouldn't last in your hands, whatever the reason for its demise.
The Nexus 5 has a chance though. Let's see what happens...

It's the best Android for me, although the fact it's made by LG bothers me too.
