Article: Samsung Just Screwed Over About 10 Million Of Its Android Phone Cu
Wow! Just WoW! What are they thinking? $
I will hold my comments at the moment.
See. Enough with the UI on top of Android. Let it go folks. Samsung, HTC, Moto...stop it. Make solid hardware, guys the software end is done....
Branding is showing its true colors now.
this certainly sux. Yet another reason I love the ability to use a custom rom.
so the rom cookers will just cook up an ics rom for everyone?
Basically that's exactly what will happen.

So the other 9 million will just have to but a new phone. Yay
Just when they thought they were creating brand loyalty huh
This really make me want to buy the G3.
Im actually downloading an ICS flavored custom Rom for my sensation as I type. As for brand loyalty I dont have too much of that, so it doesnt bother me. So long as I get the freedom I need, and the High end hardware specs I want; Ill go with any android brand, seeing as Ill just custom flash it anyways
ooooooo very nice! Sense 3.5 and ICS make for a very sweet and fast combo. A couple small glitches but thats to be expected with a beta custom rom.
I'm really holding out that this just isn't the case. We could all go through the "but just flash a ROM" thing but that's only for a small percentage of users.
All those commercials that they just released making fun of Apple fans standing in line telling everyone the next it thing is already here. Well, arcording to this it isn't. ICS is to Android what iOS5 was to apple.
It's Googles baby, they need to out a stop to this and mandate a upgrade schedule. But, they won't.

Rent how is that Tom? They have folks toying with a port on the 3d.
Still wish I had a Sammy....
Betcha Samsung reverses this.
Hate autocorrect.REMY how is that ROM?
The concensus seems to be there is no reason for software updates when a new handset is being released every few weeks with that new OS. I'm sure its $ that drives their poor choice in supporting less than 1 year old devices with great specs.
The flurry of articles related to this topic has been interesting.
thenextweb article: "Samsung considers its relationship with the consumer to be concluded the moment the sale is completed"
Daring Fireball: Why bother with software updates? We’ve got their money. Let them buy a new device if they want the latest software.
