Too little and way too late. Also, no BES? What's the point

Noticed that on Engadget. Looks like writing the software to work with OS is quite a job, probably why the native e-mail on the playbook is not there, hence OS 7 being released rather than going straight from 6 to QNX. At least there will be BIS, even if no BES, most businesses will likely still be ok with OS 7, or depending on the industry still have their people on BB's using OS 5 . Still looks like RIM is working hard on getting things working.

...I must say there´s lots of speculation going on here. RIM is tight lipped about details. And rightly so.
BES is a problem, but I consider offensive the rumor of having to use Microsoft Active Sync to sync a BB.
Asterix would claim that the sky had fallen on our heads.

Rumours abound, I also heard that the devices about to be released will be able to run QNX in the future, but other rumours say they wont, so in the end we have to wait and see

The Info is that QNX needs a dual processor to run. And lots of memory. Unless QNX can be modified to run on less... could be. I have my doubts.

CNET review: Other features on the Torch 9810 are admirable. There's a 1.2GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera, and 8GB of onboard storage. The 3.2-inch touch-screen will be powered by BlackBerry Liquid Graphics, but you'll also get a slide-out keyboard.

So if the Colt does debut with a single core running QNX, why exactly can't the Torch?
I realize specs aren't final on the Colt, but IF it does debut with a single, kinda kicks users who do buy the recently released blackberry devices in the head. I'd guess then it'd be totally siftware issues as opposed to hardware. So, that begs to ask, will someone be able to shoehorn QNX onto the Torch?

Wont be that simple will it? Another reason to love open source.

I've waited for the 9900 to come out now for a bit so the big question is do I hold off for this one. Have an upgrade coming so one will be at a lower price but would have to pay full price for the colt and don't think I can do that.
