    Personally, I think Oracle bought Sun for its patents. Granted, Oracle is still supporting Solaris; however, OpenOffice, openSolaris, and some of the other Sun products were abandoned by Oracle.

    Money does not always solve the problems, RIM has a design, software and ecosystem delima that even IF they scrapped, is a big risk. Hard to tell/imagine what would come out of that other than a long road to tavel to get back in the game.
