I don't remember reading Time magazine back in the early '80s I thought it was more of a boring glossy magazine, I preferred the Economist, still do, however the dawn of the PC was certainly significant. I am not talking about the hobbyist items, no the real computer which could be used as a business machine. Jobs have disappeared because of it Computer Operators, telecommunications operators, secretaries, and so forth. Progress. It has certainly made my job easier. Certainly a significant change for all of us.

I have Time collection since 1980. I remember the article and if the books weren't all boxed up I would tee read it all over again. I remember at the time also being perplexed at the choice of Man of the Year, but here we are today deeper and deeper and totally dependent on the gizmo.
