People publish some stupid things on Facebook, they treat it like a private diary that they wish to share with their friends. Should employers have the right to ask for this information? In my opinion absolutely not! When you apply for a job there are things that employers cannot ask this should be one of them. You cannot ask if someone has a work permit until you offer the job, you should not consider age or gender. Definitely wrong. Maybe you should ask to see the interviews Facebook Page fair exchange?

I find it amusing that they have to sign an agreement not to post any negative comments about the company. Sounds like Thought Policing to me.

^^^^the sods won't believe you, like Steve says. They will consider you snobs and too intelligent to work for them.
You'll be disrupting their routines etc.
And you wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

For me it would depend what I used Facebook for, and how much the job was paying, after all, whilst I do have Facebook, there is nothing on it that would be of any interest to any company, (more due to my age and the fact that I don't tend to post my life on it)

I agree Dave I guess it's just the principle. I don't have anything to hide I just think it's crossing the line

We actually discussed this at a job seeker group meeting I attended last night.

One guy said that he would friend the company so that they could see anything on his Facebook, but only after he got the job.
