I've had dogs for years, while they do communicate with each other and with us they don't normally do it through barking unless we are so dumb that we don't listen . For example the dogs sleep in our bedroom next to our bed. If one of them wants to go out it will communicate their requirement to the rottweiler which will then wake me up, not sure how, but it works. Watch dogs how often do you see them barking at each other unless it's a fight or they are trying to scare someone away. A dog will learn to bark to ask for food or something they want if they find it works with you, they train you in this sense.
Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful, and optimistic. And we will change the world. - Jack Layton (1950-2011)
