    Google doesn't usually introduce non-Nexus devices at I/O? Seriously? Is this a case of selective memory? The only Nexus device they've ever introduced at I/O was the Nexus 7 this last year, so if anything, they broke traditions *by* unveiling a Nexus device.

    2012: Nexus 7 & Nexus Q, the Galaxy Nexus had been unveiled the previous fall/winter.
    2011: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (not a Nexus), the Nexus S had been unveiled the previous fall/winter.
    2010: HTC Evo 4G (not a Nexus), the Nexus One had been unveiled the previous fall/winter.
    2009: HTC Sapphire (dubious, because it was a special developer edition, and predating the Nexus line).
    2008: No gift, since the first Android hardware was late 2008, and all 3rd party app development was happening in emulators.
