    I've always preferred the native BIS type method of getting the service also. Google's Apps are not "All That" anyway.

    Maybe they have decided the same and no real need to spent time and $ on an App that does not get used as much due to the OS being able to offer the same anyway.

    Same here. What's the point of having an additional app for e-mail if the native OS has that covered?

    Exactly, but if you read the press you would think it was the worse thing that could happen, and I am sure that these articles do influence some people.

    This probably isn't really an issue for most users. Given that BIS allows you to connect to GMail through POP/IMAP anyway this app is practically redundant.

    I think, regarding Google, i's all got to do with ... money. Like Rog says the native OS has it all covered. The rest is redundant...
