...but after Sep 12, in the US specifically, it's back to Apple. Unless the apps and features don't change.
For me it's not what the new iPhone will look like but what new features (real ones and not just LTE or NFC) it will have to take the fight to the SIII. People are fickle and if Apple doesn't deliver with new features to captivate its customers, it will not be able to rule past the novelty stage.

I'd take the SIII over the new iPhone, but for a different reason.

My preference is typing in portrait mode, rather than landscape mode. The iPhone just isn't wide enough for me to type in portrait mode. From everything I've seen, the new iPhone will be taller but not any wider.

You know Laura, something unexplainable for you to consider...
I had the SIII, all the others too. With Swiftkey 3 keyboard and also Swype. Big screens all of them on landscape or portrait.
Yet on the smaller screen of the iPhone, portrait or landscape, I type faster and manage to be more accurate.
    Strange.

    That's interesting.

I've played with iPhones and the SIII. I visited my financial advisor a couple weeks ago, and she just got an SIII. I found the stock keyboard easier to type on than my friends' iPhones.

The only thing I'd do is put the SIII in a case. The one I played with was naked, and it was a little difficult to grip, since it was rather slick.

I'm using an Otterbox Commuter case on my current device. I had no issues typing previously, and my device has a matte finish, so the slickness was not an issue. The SIII does have a really slick finish though.

    +1

    I'm the exact same way.

The GSIII is a little too thin for my hands, but I seem to manage.
