Hopefully each of the companies that were responsible for the software presented to be hacked had engineers present at the competition. For those that got hacked, to learn what holes need to be closed in their software and for those that were left alone, to learn how the hackers operated to seal future holes in their software. It is always fun to see the results of these types of competitions and I hope that the companies take the knowledge presented and grow with them. It has been really nice seeing some of the companies (cough...Microsoft....cough) accepting that, given time and the proper tools, no software application is unhackable and choosing to work with the hackers to provide better security instead of retalitating through legal means (cough.....Sony....cough) to attempt to hide the implied embarrassment of being hacked.
