    You can't be serious...

Everyone knows iTunes is a pain in the ***, and thats why so many people avoid it. He agreed to the TOS so he has no business crying about it now. How many times have you heard people bad mouthing iTunes for this very same thing? Common sense escapes us.

What happened to the smart consumer that shops wisely? There are other choices out there, but of course, he wants to use iTunes but with his own terms.

Ageed. I doubt he will be able to get around that.
Why I always buy music where it is MINE and I'm not tied to DRM. Same with my books.

Same here! iTunes only for apps that I really need for moi or the missus!
Music? Nah, I buy them and then put them on my music player. And I don't use iTunes Match or whatever it's called, that saves music on their servers...forget it. I don't trust them.
Or I find some torrent first to download. If I like it, then I´ll buy.
But hey, Bruce Willis ! Go at their necks bud! You´re my type of hero!

The more I think about it the more it sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing. iTunes will convert all your music into mp3s. You can own your music if you use your brain a little.
